Brandon Marshall: Dolphins get big trouble, big numbers

Football 2
The Brandon Marshall trade is the talk of the NFL. Known as much for his arrest record as his pass catching talent, the superstar wide receiver was traded by the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins. According to the NFL, the Dolphins gave Denver a second round pick in next week's NFL draft within the Brandon Marshal trade, also as a second round pick next year.

In the Brandon Marshall trade, exactly what does Miami get?

Brandon Marshall has been beating women off the field with his brilliance in a brutal man's game. Is it possible that it is cash now, pain later? In Brandon Marshall, the Dolphins are getting themselves one of the greatest receivers within the game at one of the worst positions. Brandon Marshall seems to be one strike from getting suspended for a year by the NFL.

Brandon Marshall and just what he learned in college

Brandon Marshall started showing up in police reports during his junior year at the University of Central Florida with misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, refusal to obey and assault on a police officer. The charges all were dismissed. Later he was charged with retail theft after trying to return a set of stolen bed sheets. Those charges were also dropped.

Could the Brandon Marshall fight have lead to a fatal shooting?

The Denver Broncos drafted Brandon Marshall in 2006. In that year, Brandon Marshall was involved in an altercation at a Denver nightclub that former Broncos wide receiver Javon Walker said contributes to a shooting shortly after that which killed Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.

Brandon Marshall beats up girlfriend

Brandon Marshall attracted the police again in January 2007 following a fight with his father, who asked to borrow cash, within the parking lot of a bowling alley in Orlando, FL. An additional report was filed after girlfriend Rasheedah Watley said Marshall had threatened her with a lead pipe in Marsh 2007. Just a few days later, Marshall was arrested on charges of false imprisonment and domestic violence for assaulting Watley at the Marshall home in Denver. After Marshall attended anger management classes, charges were dismissed.

So much for those anger management classes Brandon Marshall

Again Marshall assaulted Watley, according to police reports, in June 2007 when he allegedly cut her with a kitchen knife and punched her in the face. Marshall then went and rammed Watley's friend's vehicle with his nice vehicle, being a Cadillac Escalade. Again, there were no charges filed. A few weeks later, Atlanta police responded after Marshall missed a flight, blamed Watley and beat her up. No charges were filed. The Atlanta police department suggested to Watley that she get a restraining order.

Drinking and driving with Brandon Marshall

In October 2007, Brandon Marshall got a DUI. Marshall was suspended for the first 3 regular season games of 2008 after more reports of violence with Watley being the on the receiving end. Marshall was eventually charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple battery for incidents in March 2007. For his DUI in September 2008, Marshall was given a year of probation.

Brandon Marshall assaults his fiance

Brandon Marshall proposed to Michi Nogami-Campbell in February of 2009, compelling several sports writers to praise Marshall for his “maturity.” Just a few months later, Marshall was arrested for assaulting his fiance in public in Atlanta. The charges were dismissed shortly after. The Broncos suspended Marshall for several games last season and he was benched for the final game.

Dolphins, best of luck with Brandon Marshall

Even after all of this, why would the Dolphins was a Brandon Marshall trade? He can be instant money for them – with caveats. Marshall set an NFL record for receptions in a game with 21 in 2009, and he managed to catch more than 100 passes for the third straight year. Brandon Marshall's conduct in the meantime, including his recent assault on his fiance, is under review by the NFL. Good Luck Brandon Marshall and the Dolphins.
