Journey For Stanley Cup Continues

Quest For The Stanley Cup Continues

The NHL playoffs continued, on the run up towards the Stanley Cup finals. There are 8 teams gunning for it. San Jose leads the Detroit Red Wings by two games, the Canadiens and Penguins are tied at one each, the Canucks lead the Blackhawks by one, and the Boston Bruins also lead by one over the Philadelphia Flyers. It is early within the round, but some have a harder road than others. Even giving a psychic a installment payday loans won’t tell you who will win at this point.

The Red Wings are out for Stanley Cup 14

The Detroit Red Wings are out for number 14 in Stanley Cup victories, though their start in the NHL Conference Championships has not begun well. They went in as the number five seed, against the number one seeded San Jose Sharks. San Jose won its fifth Division Championship and is pursuing its first Conference Championship. San Jose leads two games to none, winning both so far by 4 goals to 3. Detroit will host the next two games at Joe Louis Arena, on Tuesday and Thursday, on May 4 and May 6. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Canadiens and the Penguins

The Montreal Canadiens, who have one of the most Stanley Cup wins within the NHL, are tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins at one all. The first game in Pittsburgh was a victory for the home team, beating the Canadiens 6 to 3 on April 30. Two days later, they returned the favor 3 to 1 over Pittsburgh, largely thanks to goal tender Jaroslav Halak. Halak turned in a banner year performance already within the 2010 Winter Olympics. Montreal will host Game 3.

Vancouver and Chicago

The Vancouver Canucks and the Chicago Blackhawks were paired for game 1 on Saturday, May 1. Chicago were blasted by Vancouver, scoring only one goal to Vancouver's 5. May 3, at 9 p.m. ET could be when they face off next.

The Flyers and the Bruins

The Flyers trail and have won none, and the Bruins have won one. The first game was close, with Boston clinching the 5-4 victory in overtime on May 1. May 3 will be game 2, at 7 p.m. ET. Coverage of the NHL Playoffs varies by area in Canada, and are exclusively on the Versus network within the U.S.. (Your local listings May have to be checked.)
