Faisal Shahzad Arrested For Times Square Car Bomb

Authorities made an arrest in connection with the Times Square vehicle bomb, 30 year old Pakistan born Faisal Shahzad. He is due to appear in court today, Tuesday, May 4. Thankfully, he didn’t know very much about bomb making, as the device failed to go off, and no one was injured. Authorities picked him up later. With the charges he’s likely to face, he’s going to need some hefty no faxing payday loans to get decent lawyer.

Faisal Shahzad arrested in attempted flight

Faisal Shahzad was attempting escape when caught. At John F. Kennedy International Airport, he had boarded a plane bound for Dubai, and the plane was recalled to the runway. The automobile that had the bomb in it was traced to the original owner, which is how he was tracked down according to the Los Angeles Times. The bomb, according to authorities, appeared to be the work of two individuals.

Referred to as quiet type

Neighbors of Faisal Shahzad described him as being very private. Nobody knew what he did as a living, and he rarely was seen outside the house. According to CBS, one neighbor thought he worked on Wall Street, and one more believed he worked in nearby Norwalk, close to his previous residence in Shelton, Connecticut. Neither saw him outside of the house much. The house he resided with his wife and kids in was later foreclosed on.

The President weighs in

The President praised the police force officials that acted, and also the citizens that alerted them. He promised further investigation and that justice would be done.

Why did he do it?

So far, the motives of Faisal Shahzad’s Times Square car bomb haven’t been identified. It is known he had recently become an American citizen. He had also purchased a home with his wife, which was foreclosed on, and afterward she and their children returned to Peshawar in Pakistan, where he had visited them. He purchased a 1993 Pathfinder with cash and didn’t complete the necessary registration. Authorities used the VIN on the motor to find the previous owner. Further insight might be gained soon, as he is due in court soon.
