Jim Harbaugh hired by 49ers and speculation finally ends
The San Francisco 49ers has hired Stanford miracle coach Harbaugh. Harbaugh’s future has been subject of some speculation, which is now finally over. A lot of work is ahead of him. Thankfully though, installment loans were not used to negotiate the deal.
Suspecting that Jim Harbaugh is making a San Francisco 49ers deal
There has been a lot of speculation about Jim Harbaugh becoming an NFL head coach while leaving the Stanford football team. ABC reports that he signed a $25 million deal for five years with the San Francisco 49ers. Harbaugh is considered a college football coaching prodigy, after taking the Stanford Cardinals from a losing team into an annual bowl game presence. This year Stanford went 12 and 1. The team was supposed to win the NFC West this year but hasn't posted a winning record in a decade which means Harbaugh will have a lot of work to do. The Wild Card round of the NFL playoff schedule will be played by the Seattle Seahawks against the New Orleans Saints while the Seahawks ended up winning the NFC West.
All about the inspiration behind it
One of Harbaugh's heroes gave him inspiration to take the San Francisco job. Stanford hired Bill Walsh who took the school to two bowl games before moving on to be hired by the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers went and got four Super Bowl titles after he was coach while Walsh picked up Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice and Steve Young while perfecting the West Coast Offense.
Hard road ahead
Jim Harbaugh has his work cut out for him. The NFC was supposed to be won by the 49ers after it went 8 and 8 in 2009, but then it went to 6 and 10 instead. The organization recently fired head coach Mike Singeltary. Harbaugh will have to go head on head with his brother in the 2011 season as his brother, John Harbaugh, is the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. Sometime in 2011 the game is expected to happen.
