Nazis would be proud of Chinese actions toward Nobel Peace Prize

Xiaobo, a thorn in the Chinese government’s side, was officially chosen the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize at a celebration held in Oslo, Norway. An empty seat at the Nobel awards service symbolized the lack of Liu, who is locked up in a Chinese jail. China has spoken out against Liu’s award of the Nobel Peace Prize since it was declared and is the first government since Nazi Germany to ban family or friends to represent the winner in Olso. Even if Liu Xiaobo was able to get an pay day loan, he would not be able to buy his freedom.

With nobody there to accept, Nobel Peace Prize was placed in a chair

The 2010 Nobel Peace Prize had been awarded by Thorbjorn Jagland who’s the chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee when an empty chair held the prize and the $1.5 million check that comes with it. Over 60 countries sent diplomatic representatives. They were all to attend the Nobel awards ceremony. Both China and Russia were very much absent. Jagland gave China credit for its economic development, but said "It is no coincidence that nearly all the richest countries in the world are democratic.” In October, it was announced the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize had been Liu Xiaobo. All trade talks with Norway were stopped by China then. We can tell what the Beijing government thinks about this. It did say the Nobel Committee members were "clowns" after all.

Charter 08 for Liu Xiaobo

The arrest of Liu Xiaobo happened in December 2008 after Nobel Peace Prize Winner signed the Charter 08 agreement. This means he tried to get political change in China to happen. Charter 08 was signed by more than 300 academics, lawyers, journalists and other influential Chinese. Liu ended with an 11 year prison sentence as a result of "subversion of state power" after what he did. News of Liu's award has been stopped by China as much as possible. On Thursday, Zhang Zuhua, a co-author of Charter 08, was seen forced into a car by police. Blue construction panels were erected in front of Liu’s apartment, where his wife has been under house arrest since he was announced as the winner.

China just like Hitler now

Imprisoned political dissidents have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize before. Soviet physicist Andrei Sakharov, Polish labor leader Lech Walesa and Burmese activist Aung San Suu Kyi were represented by family at the Oslo awards ceremony. It has been a when since an imprisoned Nobel winner's family couldn't come. It was 1935 in fact. Count Carl von Ossietzky was a German journalist put in a concentration camp after speaking out about Hitler's rise to power. He then won the Nobel Peace Prize. Hitler then concocted his own peace prize, just like the Chinese did Thursday with their farcical Confucius Prize.

Nobel Peace Prize going to a chair

Liu Xiaobo signed a Charter 08

Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo was arrested in December 2008 after co-authoring “Charter 08,”a manifesto calling for fundamental political change in China. More than 300 influential Chinese including academics, lawyers and journalists signed the Charter 08. For his efforts, Liu was sentenced to 11 years in prison for “subversion of state power.”. China has been trying to make it so the news of Liu's award doesn't come. They want to suppress it. Thursday it was seen that police shoved Zhang Zuhua into a vehicle. He was a co-author of Charter 08. Now in front of Liu's house there are blue construction panels. His wife was on house arrest there after he was announced winner of the award.

What China has done seems a lot like Hitler
